- The Edge is looking for contestants! Mail theedge@bbc.co.uk OR give ’em a ring on 01414 226383. Details here, closing date is Friday so get on with it. I don’t know if they’ve made changes or not, although we can only hope so.
- Dutch Pointless starts on 27th July with Lucille Werner (fab host of Lingo for about 15 years) with Pointless friend Owen Schumacher (comic and contestant on Wie is de Mol and De Slimste, the new series of which starts tonight and yet there’s still no UK one). It looks like all these great shows will be able to be seen for free on bvn.tv. Here’s a contestant promo, look:
- Meanwhile your favourite version of the format Personne n’y avait pensé! is back after a four year hiatus on France 3 with the same host Cyril Féraud but a brand new font, because obviously that’s what was wrong with the original and not mangling the format.
- The German version of Utopia, Newtopia, has been axed, bringing the running total of successful countries for Talpa’s hit format to a grand total of The Netherlands.
I think the French Pointless only changed the font of the logo. Everything else is in Helvetica Black.
Alright, well here’s the original – basically like ours but more black and white as opposed to yellow:

Yet look at the front of the desks now:

Ahh, I was looking at promo shots with the big column.
the Italin version of “Don’t Ask me, Ask Britain” (with celebrities) is doing great!
here’s a nice quesiton: “what sexy dance should Valeria Marini (one of the players) perform?”
Amazing, it’s on somewhere in the Middle East as well IIRC.
I wonder how much it’s changed since last year?

in Italy it works like this: there are six “groups” playing along from home. the two groups with the highest score are in the final. the winning celebrity team picks which group wins the episode. the winning group then plays one final question to win a trip.
there are also random prizes for app users
1,2 mln viewers for the opening of De Slimste, it’s going to be a great season again.
