Even more excitement next week

By | July 8, 2015

Well I think it’s great that so many channels are inefficiently putting out new shows right at the beginning of Summer where there’s going to be no audiences. Some more to add to the list:

  • King of the Nerds – Sky 1 AND SKY ONE HD DONTCHAKNOW, Sunday 7pm – this is interesting because they’ve kept the launch of this quiet, rather, and sounds like it’s been on a shelf for a little bit, but they’ve been scouting for contestants for a series two so I don’t know. Anyway Konnie Huq invites self-proclaimed nerds to an elimination nerd-off. If it’s like the US show, actually much more entertaining than it sounds, challenge weeks alternate between creative (cosplay, debating about comics) and technical (drone flying, building structures). US show had a largely celebratory tone, will be intrigued to see how Objective have pitched it.
  • The Link 2014’s second best gameshow OFFICIAL returns with some episodes that weren’t shown during the last run. Monday, 1:45pm.

There’s so much exciting stuff happening, it seems like one could almost fill a board with them!

I’m afraid the Board of Excitement is “classic Bother’s Bar”, and as a forward looking establishment we try not to retread on former glories.

But look out for “Excitement Round-up” on Sunday, a kind of “best of” (a repeat of) the previous week’s posts in handy all-in-one-place format, if we can’t think of anything better to post in the next few days.

I’ll watch KOTN, but I don’t have very high hopes for it. Something tells me it won’t be good at all.

So the Crystal Maze folk revealed one of the games that will be in the live experience. Hoping this is a one-off, I don’t want to know the majority of the games before I play it.

The latest perks are to suggest a game to construct from a list of ‘classic’ ones, or specify a new design for them to build. I’m guessing they have a good few they’ve worked out they can do (new and old), but see this as another opportunity to get ‘buy in’. Sorry for excessive scare quotes, it’s been that sort of day for me today.

I saw that and thought “no-o-o-o-o-o-o”, but there’s only one of each available, so that’s quite cool.

If I thought they had the budget to make the bucking bronco paintball game from series one happen…!
