The Ryder Cup is on this weekend and is likely to be an emotional rollercoaster.
Speaking of rollercoasters, our thanks to TV Cream’s Steve Williams who pointed out that there’s an episode of legendary kids snakes and ladders quiz Hold Tight on Youtube. With Bob Carolgees!
Our friends at TV Cream are also looking for things that fit the following: “Have you ever sussed out a winning strategy for a particular quiz show that no one else has ever spotted? Have you noticed a fatal flaw? For a future TVC project we are interested in hearing your best quiz show strategies, so please tweet us or email jack@tvcream.co.uk“
it’s Bulgarian AUA! very close to the original
just too bad they don’t have an actor to play as the Jinx and the host has to do it himself.
Oh my God, I’ve just watched the first minute and it feels so *weird* – the audience are so quiet, when the audience are such a big part of the Italian show.
Watching a bit further maybe I’ve been a bit unfair – they do seem to have properly tried and they’ve evidently have proper ideas there. But it still feels a bit too quiet.
The host dressing up as the Jinx was quite sweet.
If I were to patronizingly sum up Bulgaria un Altro in a word, it would be ‘plucky’.
Thought you might be interested to know that I bullied my friends into playing 21QW: Hotseat yesterday. (Sweeping the nation, etc. etc.)
Easy questions* and contestants with calm nerves and enough memory to rattle off about the first ten answers meant the prize was claimed in four minutes, but for a non-quizzy audience, they took to it very well. Also, I’m a much better speed-reader than I thought I was.
Format fee’s in the post.
*Personal highlight “Belmarsh or the YMCA: Where is it fun to stay?”
Awesome. We’d have to qualify it with “according to the song…”, which also makes the question a little bit longer.
I remember Hold Tight very fondly when I was a kid and this vid has just reminded me how much I wish I could have been the one who controlled the platforms on the stage. “Marco, please raise the saxophonist!” Lol
Remember it well as should every one who is pushing 40! Knowing that I was born in the mid 70’s is the best part of my life as the 90’s was shite (especially cars and the music)
Alton Towers is a complete rip off at £48 a ticket, the last time I went was in 1992, I also went on school trips in 1990, 1985, 1986 & *1980 (*the year it opened)
Passé muraille today announced that his friend la boule has passed away. Sad times.
Why have they made the offer button more complicated than they need to on Deal? Further to this what is to stop the banker making a stupidly low offer to avoid the contestant getting the use? I know it is against the spirit of the show, but it does not seem very well thought out. They should just give the contestant the choice, box 23 or the offer button.
It’s the 10th anniversary of Run for Money, and they’ve created special two-part game. There are two games being played at the same time but in two different locations, but the teams have to help each other out with the missions.
Here’s the first ep:

Part two is on this Sunday. This time, instead of cooperating, the teams will be working against each other to win.
