Well, today I’ve been to Westfield Shopping Centre, as made famous in TV’s The Apprentice a few weeks ago. Let’s take a look at this year’s HOTTEST ITEMS.
As regular viewers will know, I’m “from” Cambridge. Cambridge does not have a Krispy Kreme, but London has loads. Krispy Kreme doughnuts are good. We have just had a Yo Sushi open though, so it’s probably only a matter of time. Yes I know they look a bit squashed but they’re all eventually going in my gob anyway.
I had no clue this was coming out (or perhaps it’s been out for a year – it seems a bit odd to be coming out now with no news of a third series), but it features over 1,300 questions and puzzles (including a slidey puzzle thing) and an insinuation that press-ups may be involved and is an actual board game with DVD element. I will try and give it a run through sometime. Debenhams had it for £20 today (£25 normally apprently) but Amazon are selling it for less. I bought a copy because I always like to support shows I like (couldn’t find any copies of The Cube or Pointless anywhere in Westfield) however I also saw copies of The Million Pound Drop going at WHSmiths for £30 apiece, the back shows off the drop table, you get 40 “bundles of cash” counters and 240 questions and a timer.
However, this year’s hottest gameshow gift is probably going to be this:
Part of a range of Britain’s Got Talent merchandise (i.e. a microphone, magic set etc) these also come in packs of three. Single ones are £6 each, and light up and make the sound and everything. Even if you don’t use it for judging talent contests, why not do what I intend to do and use it in an office environment, buzzing people whenever they say something really stupid or annoying?
Speaking of getting behind things, before the weekend I was introduced to Brett Domino’s Gillian McKeith song which is very likable and got to number 29 in the OFFICIAL Top 40 chart at the weekend. Buy it on iTunes, or watch the video:
Incidentally, I’m aware M and S were doing K-Fac card game things last year, although I couldn’t find them this year.
Hell yes to YoSushi. Chocolate mochi shall eventually give me diabetes, but the downward slope until then shall be quite fun.
Just having a quick play on the DVD – it’s fairly nicely done, but having the theme tune on a loop during all the time you’re not using it is REALLY DUMB.
Also I largely predict having individual rounds that last about 90 seconds each may get annoying.
More playing about: I like the ideas behind the game on the DVD, having a twenty second loop of the theme for a 30 second game is a bit silly. I will certainly look to testing this out for reals with real people soon.
Ooh, they’ve come up with some new Krypton K transformations for the board game elements.
Krispy Kreme are awesome but they have taken away my key lime pie ones 🙁
Sadly not made it up to Newcastle yet either, which is a big shock looking at the size of the people (myself included) it would be a sure fire hit.
Combine it with shake-a-holic http://www.shakeaholic.com/menu.php and its an instant heart attack but i would die a happy man
Could they BE any more similar to Shakeaway? Not that I have any idea who came first, plus I wouldn’t dream of having one anymore now I’m a diet and exercise freak 🙁
Good for you mate thats my plan for the new year.
So for now i can have all the shakes i can handle, its the 20 minute queues for Shake-A-Holic i can’t handle.
I see that Shakeaway is launching in Newcastle right next to the main Shake-A-Holic that will be a very interesting battle in the cut throat world of milkshake, as Shake-A-Holic have already seen off mi-shake from Newcastle.
Who would of thought so many milkshake bars would exist? If only we had a Krispy Kreme to wash them down with 😀
Washing down with Krispy Kreme?
We have been known to go from Teesside to Manchester not just for the Krispy Kreme hot-light store next to the Trafford Centre, but for fairly few other reasons as well as the mighty KK.
Also, just about anything Brett Domino does is aceness. One of my favourite Youtube musicians along with Ronald Jenkees.
I can exclusively reveal the new Family Fortunes app is very, very poor. To find out exactly why and how, look out for review at weekend, or buy it for yourself at £1.79 for a limited period.
Way to sell it, Brig! 😀
The buzzers are surprisingly good build, I think I should add, I can’t walk past it without giving it a good hearty smack.
