Thanks top Barry for the heads-up, fans of Scottish television will be delighted to know that STV seem to be in the process of putting up a load of STV stuff on Youtube. Currently up are Burn Your Bills from 2005, the really-quite-good kids show Get Wet, school quiz Red Amber Green, comedy quiz Shammy Dab and general knowledge quiz Snap!
Importantly, Win, Lose or Draw is promised.
If that’s not exciting enough, I forgot to mention that the new season of Deal or No Deal begins this afternoon at 4:15 on Channel 4.
Unrelatedly, I know people here like Tim Vine, so:

Hmph. I should have expected they would block it in America. Can’t we non-brits get some love?
and STV are using the STV Player on top of the YouTube player. So you cannot download hard copies. Otherwise I would’ve done something on Buzzerblog for non-Brits.
Get Wet is 13 years old? I remember it like it was only on our screens yesterday!
It doesn’t seem to want to let me watch some of them either, and I’m in Derby, England – surely they haven’t made it so specific that it can only be watched in Scotland!?
It’s fine here in Cambridge. You don’t have a YouTube account that thinks its from outside the UK, do you?
For me it didn’t have a problem with geoblocking, it just said the vid just wasn’t available, if that’s what you mean.
Also hi from Derby too.
Odd theory… if I were to change my YouTube account’s nationality (or create an alternate account under a different nationality, I think you can manually set it?), would it be possible to watch the videos, or do they block by the location of the IP? I know that the Beeb’s Iplayer and other catch-up services block by location, but would something like YouTube care to look into that as much?
I tried watching the episodes of ‘Burn Your Bills’, but every time I click an episode to watch, it says the vids aren’t available.
How odd, I get that too. But the episodes of Shammy Dab and Get Wet are fine.
