Saturday Night’s Alright For Writing 14th August 2010

By | August 14, 2010

Well, Tom gets a night off 3-2-1 (although I can reveal he’s chosen the globe to go next. What’s he thrown away? Find out tomorrow night). Meanwhile, Saturday night is upon us once again for us to try and get excited about and fail miserably.

  • 6:50pm BBC1 101 Ways To Leave a Gameslow
  • 7:05pm ITV Odd One In
  • 7:50pm ITV Magic Numbers
  • 7:50pm BBC1 Tonight’s the Night

Big questions to answer this evening. WILL the earlier timeslot and last week’s big money win prove the fillip needed for Magic Numbers? WHY does the BBC insist on spoiling the upcoming week’s 101 Ways… with all the clips of everyone leaving thus making the show pointless to watch? All that and more.

Beryl answered four questions correctly (question four incorrect). The cases went X – £100,000 – X – £40,000. So she won £40,000.

I’m sure I heard Mulhern brag that £290,000 is the highest win on TV this year, although my mind has gone totally blank and I can’t think of anything to contradict that claim!

Someone won $500,000 on Minute to Win It earlier this year which is more than £290k when taking the exchange rate into account. So Mulhern is WRONG.

I suspect Mulhern or the production team have read my post over at Buzzerblog, mentioning it’s the biggest win in 2010 so far, since nobody else on the internet have mentioned it.

That or they actually researched it.

I cannot see the show being comissioned for 2011 but the BBC have solved their summer problem. Tonight’s The Night is doing very well, 101 Ways is OK at the moment ratings wise.
