We were catching up with The Great British Bake Off For Stand Up To Cancer yesterday night featuring Anneka Rice, and it opened with a Treasure Hunt take-off. In December 2022, Treasure Hunt, one of Channel 4’s most iconic shows, will be FORTY years old. Surely this calls for a one-off special? Richard Osman said he’d have loved to have done an 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Treasure Hunt episode – he might not be a producer anymore but this seems like a pretty fun idea to run with.

Funnily enough, I’ve been watching old Treasure Hunts on YouTube – and I had a thought…Brig – you could select certain clues that lend themselves to it, and invite two Friends Of The Bar to solve them using Google etc – the aim being to complete the course in the fastest time…it’s the germ of an idea, admittedly, and it might be terrible or unworkable…but I wonder if there’s anything in it??
I don’t think it’d be that visually interesting, but it DOES give me an idea…
