I’m busy over the next few nights but there are some entertaining foreign shows on, and happily because they’re on for ages there’s a chance I might get to see some of them.
Tonight at 9-11pm UK time is the Spanish version of popular Italian fun king of the hill quiz Avanti! You can watch an official live feed of the channel here.
Saturday at 7:15 UK time Stefan Raab defends a whopping €2m on Schlag den Raab. Hopefully a naughty live feed will turn up.
As Brig just said on twitter, this is surprisingly exciting!
Stefan messes it up! Peter wins!
Peter 27 – 39 Stefan
Down to the last shoe, Peter can’t watch,RAAB MISSED and Peter is back in the game!
Well closer to being back in the game than he was a few minutes ago.
Amazing game. Who’d have predicted?
And this is why we love Raab, finding surprisingly exciting games, be that horseshoe throwing, bolt screwing, or toaster watching.
I wish I’d have seen the toaster watching game now, since it’s been mentioned a few times!
Toaster Watching is Spiel 11 in this video!

Enjoy!
Ah, vielen Dank 🙂
…or tablecloth pulling
And Peter wins!!!
Peter 27 – 39 Stefan
Stephan needs to win any 2 of the last 4 games to win, it’s that simple…Peter needs to win any 3 of the last 4.
Second time I’ve done this tonight! Amazing.
Alright, basically Raab can win any two, Peter must win any three of the last four to win.
That was a distressing paint advert.
BTW, did you hear CBS is threatening to sue ABC about their Glass House show? They say they are breaching Non Disclosure Agreements (about 20 ex-BB people, including the producer, are working on Glass House) and they’re basically ripping BB off..
Didn’t know “breaching NDAs” was the reason, but I had heard about the irritation between CBS and ABC. From what I’ve heard about The Glass House, they have a fair case, until it can be distinguished from Big Brother certainly.
Oh that’s interesting, Betfair taking bets on the next host of Wetten Dass, sounds like it’s not over for good after all.
Markus Lanz if you’re playing along at home, and seems pretty much locked in – odds at 1.02.
But first it’s Amy McDonald.
I read that as your first McDonalds. Would you like fries with that, sir?
Speaking of McDonalds, I tried a McGangbang last week. You take a double cheeseburger, open it out and put a Mayo Chicken inside it.
Another musical break, and now game 12 – Das Rad
Still no Elton…
It’s viewer favourite, The Wheel!
Next one in September.
The Wheel! Again!
Spiel 12 – Das Rad (The Wheel)
Wow, we LOVED this game last time it was played. So good to see it again so soon!
Looks like the rules have changed this time round.
Although slightly different this time, in a way I haven’t figured. Two podia, with numbers up to 20.
OK, so Stephen spins the wheel this time, and someone can jump in by pressing a number on their keypad when they think they know how many revolutions the wheel will make.
Ah ha, they’ve got to predict how many times it will go round as it’s spinning. First one to lock in the answer ‘owns’ it.
Looks like you have to predict the number of revolutions it will make, I also think that you can ‘bid’ and take it in turns increasing the amount if you think your opponent has under-guessed, although I’m not sure about that part.
Peter’s owning this so far, 3-1
(it’s first to 7, since nobody’s said)
Don’t think I’ve heard that ticking clock music on this before.
Can’t help but feel this has lost the tension the old version of this game had.
Yeah, the strategy of doing one more revolution each time was very tense. All you have to do here is wait for the wheel to start slowing down and make your guess.
Yep, I agree. Oh well, nice to see the prop again.
In fairness, an unusual skill game such as this would probably be unfair on the contestant given Raab would have already played it.
True, hadn’t thought of that. Would definitely have been unfair in that case, this still feels like a lesser game in comparison, would have been nicer maybe to have something different.
This has a cool reflection on the floor.
It does!
Well it also gives it a maximum of 13 spins, so they’ll know how long it will take…
It all hinges on this last spin…
Peter wins it 7-6!
Peter 39 – 39 Stefan
Best 2 of the last 3 games, then.
I think Raab might have pressed the wrong button there…
Peter takes it!
Peter 39 – 39 Stefan
I think Stephan hit the wrong button there…
Raab means to push 8 but pushes 9 instead, and hands the game to Peter!
Oooh, well, whoever wins 2 out of the next three games wins! Guaranteed to get to game 14 now…
IT’S ELTON!
Spiel 13 – Blamieren Oder Kassieren mit ELTON!
Game 13 – Cash-or-shame!
Elton finally arrives!
Traditionally Raab tends to do quite well at this.
Well, he’s romping it right now…
Stefan did indeed do quite well, winning 7-2
Peter 39 – 52 Stefan
Matchball!
Had Raab pressed the right button, it would be montage time now.
Game 14 – Pancakes!
Pancakes?
Spiel 14 – Pfannkuchen (Pancakes)
PANCAKE TOSSING FOR €2M?
Willkommen auf Schlag den Raab!
Not just regular pancake tossing with a pan, but flipping it on a spatula instead. Clever, Germany, very clever…
I don’t recommend eating these pancakes afterwards.
3-2 to Stefan.
Looks like it goes for 10 rounds.
Since Peter messed up his first flip (and as I type, his fourth), he REALLY needs Stefan to mess up as well, but he’s been perfect so far…
This is very much looking like a Raab win.
I think I’ll second that.
I guess I’ll third it, then…
Oh no! Peter makes a silly mistake, not getting it back in the pan afterward!
Raab very much going for the minimum height approach.
Oh, Peter flipped it but didn’t get it in the pan so it doesn’t count!
Matchball-pancake?
Stefan conquers it after 8 rounds, winning the match before it’s even Sunday UK time.
Next time we play for €2.5 million!
And it’s all over!
Summer break, then €2.5m in September. Until then!
September 15th to be exact
And it’s all over. Stefan wins.
Next one on 14th September, if I was listening correctly. You never know, Raab might not be broken by then!
15th, yes. Darn.
I have to say, that was probably one of the best shows in a while. Some of the games had real tension like horseshoe flipping and ‘The Wheel’.
€2.5million next time out. I have a feeling this could keep on rolling.
The record is 3m, which went to a game 15 of pool.
Well if he keeps on winning, the Christmas show will have a jackpot of €3.5million. I imagine that could pull in some amount of viewers.
The pool game went down to the black ball, I remember.
