    Love this tweet:

“If Tom Jones was 51 today, he would have released ‘Its not unusual’ when he was 5.”

And oh dear – Jasmine has chucked away another £100k…

And she’s not lying – someone really did edit Tom Jones’s Wikipedia page to say he’s 51…

I notice I’m having another bad time with the emoticons…

And I had an idea once MFI came up that this question would ask which disappeared most recently.

But guess what – that’s the definition of “blown it”…

I did a brilliant joke on Twitter. When 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009 came up, I predicted the question would be “which of these years came first?”

Doctor Who question is very dodgy – most episodes? But surely the years between Paul McGann and Chris Ecclestone mean that technically McGann is the Doctor during the off period?

So I wasn’t the only person who thought the question was dodgy.

I did shout to them on the TV. Why Paul McGann, he did a TV movie, a ninety minute movie.

Apart from the Apple productions I managed to get every single one right. Not bad for someone whose head is full of cold.

Just had a thought, if you were adapting The Doctor when they were off air then the correct answer would be close as Sylvster McCoy appeared in the TV movie. Making him 9 years as The Doctor, same as Paul McGann, therefore it would be down to exact dates.

      Sylvester McCoy – 1987-1996
      Paul McGann – 1996-2005
      Chris Ecclestone – 2005
      David Tennant – 2005-2009

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear…

Paul McGann only played the Doctor in the 1996 TV movie.

So we’ve had three complete games in one show – and those sisters somehow got the furthest…

And it’s a crash start into the next game.

I would have taken the Dr Who question to mean the time from the first TV appearance until the last. I reckon confusion would only arise to the kind of person who is very familiar with the timeline of Doctors in any case! So not your average MPD contestant.

By which definition the answer, of course, is Sylvester McCoy.

By series, which apparently they meant… Tom Baker

Can we still use this thread?

Once One Direction came up, it was clear that this opening question tonight was going to be an X Factor one…

      “I’ve never heard of Twiggy”.

What! Even I know who Twiggy is. I’d bed Davina couldn’t stop laughing in her head.

Rachel’s rather like a certain other Rachel with that hemline…

I don’t know how Davina keeps a straight face on this with the levels of stupidity being shown this weekend.

Well, they gained £50k by making that last-second move.

      Ohhhhhhhhh yes.

But don’t they know “Stairway to Heaven” was released in 1971?

this show is a rip-off, its vertually inpossible to leave with any amount of money? they hardly ask any questions in the time frame theres an advert every 15min?
i’m sick of this type of shit, why cant they spend our licencing money better? i like the cube, deal or no deal but million pound drop really insults my inteligence as a paying veiwer.
eg; i mean who would no an exact date of a groups first gig? unless you where there or a groupie? aarrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhh they just do it to get the money bk? whats the point?

Well, James and Rachel are just one question away from some money – albeit only £25k…

You could say that about any quiz question. Led Zeppelin were founded well before 1975 (Stairway to Heaven was a hit in early 70s) and the other 2 answers were obviously wrong.

…and the Sex Pistols famously gigged in 1975 to kick off the whole punk music scene. Perfectly fair question tapping into a common trivia subjuct. There’s been plenty of ammo to aim at the question writing, but there are no bullets here.

15 minutes between ad-breaks is the same ratio as The Cube and Deal or No Deal, oddly enough.

Channel 4 spends exactly as much of your Licence Fee on Million Pound Drop as it does on Deal or No Deal, and ITV does on The Cube, namely absolutely nothing.

I guess just as Newton said for every action there’s an equal, opposing reaction (or something), for every Joe there’s a nigel.

Aaaaaaaaaagh! In that moment I thought the question asked who was the oldest, rather than the youngest…
