You can just click the advert off by the ‘x’ in the corner. It won’t affect anything

How do you carry five briefcases of cash down a flight of stairs? With one hanging around your neck, naturally.

That Stefan piggy bank will haunt me for weeks. Thanks, Proseiben, I didn’t plan on sleeping tonight anyway 😀

Candidate one is Christian, a hipster geography teacher who also enjoys walking on pieces of ribbon and indoor beach volleyball, which feels like a paradox.

I wonder if, when bookies take bets on this show, they take bets on how many contestants will have footage of playing volleyball of some sort?

Hey folks. Just to let you know that you can watch SdR via ‘Prosieben Connect’. It’s the first time that Prosieben has done live streaming for any show, and the best thing is that there isn’t any geoblocking!

The online opinion poll is ‘interesting’ with Google Translate enabled:

      Q) Do you think Stefan is able to increase to 3 million jackpot?
      – Yes, definitely all the crushes!
      – I think today is the candidate even think!
      – I do not care as long as it’s exciting!

“Yes, definitely all the crushes!” currently leading with 53%.

It is quite interesting that normally you root for the contestant, but it seems in SdR the public tends to root for the Raab.

I think it is the case that many people want to see the jackpot keep on growing. Should it keep on rolling to Christmas we will see 3.5 million Euro. Now that would be impressive (a hell of a lot more impressive than Red or Black?)

Candidate two is Michael, a dental engineer (x-rays, I think?) who likes throwing hammers, and has passed his love of swingsets on to his two daughters.

Candidate three is Ilias, a medical student who… damn, check those abs.

Candidate four is Manuela, a something-to-do-with-policework who likes throwing blocks of wood and seems to be adept at track and field.

Candidate five is Sven, a bricklayer who likes football and riding his ATV. I can’t think of anything funny to go here.

So, out of the 5 Kandidaten, who would we most like to see take on Stefan? For me, I’d pick between Ilias or Sven.

I have a strange feeling that Manuela would be the best candidate, but Ilias is probably going to win the vote.

Now that there’s kosher streaming and I’m around, I’m watching my first ever German game show. Don’t speak a word of German… so the three words I’ve understood since switching on were “ministry of sound”.

I’ve read the liveblogs before – I know how long these things last! I’m in for the evening.

Welcome Luke! You won’t need to understand much German (we certainly don’t!) – the games tend to translate quite well. There will occasionally be a german or german language centric game, but most aren’t like that.

This. THIS THIS THIS. I’m actually watching the unofficial one just because it’s bigger (and also I can’t get the official one to work, but that’s because of various script blocking I think)

I agree! I feel a little lost without the ads, and I’m even slightly missing VODKA GORBACHOV!

I’m on the unofficial too, the lower quality runs better on my less-than-adequate connection. What do they do during the commercials on the official stream, just throw up a title card or something?

The next show will be on 17th November, it seems.

OK, the results are in! Let’s see who’s taking on Stefan tonight…

    It’s not Michael
    It’s not Christian
    It’s not Ilias
    And it’s not Sven

So tonight Stefan will be taking on…MANUELA

Yeah, unfortunately, women don’t seem to do that well against Stefan and I mean that in the best possible way. If I remember right, the last time Stefan took on a woman, he shut her out 66-0

I’m super stoked for Manuela. I really wish I didn’t have to go to work in half an hour. I wonder if connect.prosieben streams on mobile?

Hoo boy…could be an early night for Stephan (I don’t remember- has a woman ever beaten him? I’m pretty sure the only whitewash was a woman..)

    Reply
    1. art begotti

There were two whitewashes, one was a man. Dan predicted the whitewash around game 5, I think.

Don’t forget, SdR BEGAN after a female boxer smacked him one and gave him a black eye on TV Total, so the story goes.

OK, pleasantries out of the way. The quest for 2.5m Euro begins with

Spiel 1 – Koffer Packen (I Packed My Bag)

A mainstay of SdR, and a damn fun game at that!

  17. art begotti

Interesting, the first game appears to involve packing clothes into a suitcase. There’s a scale front and center, so apparently it’s packing closer to a certain weight?

    Reply
    1. Andy "Kesh" Sullivan

I didn’t grasp the rules, but maybe it involves packing the most weight into the bag in 2 minutes?

I like the background music – not too intrusive. Not sure I’ll be convinced if it’s the same for the next fourteen games!

    Reply
  19. art begotti

I think it’s interesting how they’re picking up the suitcases. Manuela is picking it up from both ends, which I think would give a different feeling from picking it up by one end, like Stefan is doing. I think Stefan might have a less accurate reading as a result.

    OK, time for the weigh-in…

    Stefan’s case – 22.304kg
    Manuela’s case – 16.618kg

    Stefan wins it

    Manuela 0-1 Stefan

    Reply
  21. art begotti

I was wrong, Stefan was closer, 22.3kg to 16.something. Stefan wins, 1-0.

It’s an early appearance for BLAMIEREN ODER KASSIEREN!

It’s a regular quiz on TV Total. First to 7 points wins, wrong answer gives away a point and lets them answer themselves.
