It’s That Man Again

By | April 10, 2010

schlagdenraab1Tonight a member of the public battles the multitalented Stefan Raab across 15 games for €2m.

The fun begins at 7:15 BST (which I suppose is 8:15 CET+1, or something) on ProSieben, and if you can’t access it through satellite keep your fingers crossed for a dodgy live feed, the last several have had one, so it would be looking good for this evening.

If you can’t wait that long, Total Wipeout‘s on at 5:15pm UK time for action packed fun.

I’m actually likely to be out for much of the evening and hopefully will be back in time to catch the last couple of games, but as ever I positively encourage the punters to discuss the show as it happens.

Next week’s Board of Excitement is done and scheduled to publish at 2am, hopefully Stefan Raab will have finished by then. Includes exciting new shows!

Provided your dish is big enough to pick up the signal. Move it to 19.2 degrees east, which is the Astra satellite for all the German channels (19.2 deg was also the old analogue for Sky here and for the German channels) and tune your box to 11406 V. I don’t know about other settings though.

      Good luck.

If I’m interpreting Lyngsat correctly, the digital signal is 12545 H, SID 17501. Travis has provided the analogue signal, 11406 V, audio-subcarriers 7.02 and 7.20.

And they wonder why people prefer to watch television over the interwebs: the above makes no sense to me, and I wrote it.

You may have just as well been speaking Turkish there! It’s a dish at a friends house, so we’ll see if I can tweak it.

I have a feeling you might have problems. Unless you are lucky or does know where 19.2E is without a satellite reader you will not pick up Astra.

You’re right, I got the numbers mixed up, checked my STB it’s set to 12.544H 22.00, one digit out.

Someone completed the Wipeout zone in a minute and 24 seconds, not falling into the water at all except for the big splash at the start. (Surely that’s not fair play!) Removing opportunities to discuss grooved vinyl discs, can anyone remember it being completed more quickly than that?

That was indeed a brilliant run, but I think the old school one was completed in little over a minute by someone who didn’t wipeout at all. I’m sure someone will be able to elucidate.

UKGS says 1’10, done by the same person twice (as in the Champion of Champions final).

Also as a tidbit I think I recall the qualifier record being about 1’12. But it’s probably lower.

Sorry, I’ve just gotten here, so I have to ask, is it that Hans-Martin?

No, it’s a different Hans Martin. No hyphen between the names 😀

Stefan falls off about halfway, so he had to go back to start. Hans-Martin wins! 1-0 to him.

Game 2: Fehlerbilder. Apparently, the players have to spot a difference between two pictures. First to six points wins.

Honestly, I kinda miss the car horn buzzers.
Stefan wins 6-5, pulls ahead 2-1.

It came down to a tiebreaking picture, but Stefan took it. He now leads 2-1, and we go to commercial.

Game 3: Motorsaegen, or chainsaws. They have to cut through a log, basically.

Hans Martin just couldn’t cut it quite fast enough. Stefan 5, Hans Martin 1.

The object is to get to 50 points before your opponent. You do this by rolling one die. Every time you don’t roll a six, you score what you roll, and you may either roll again and risk those points OR bank those points and pass the die to your opponent. If you DO roll a six, you lose the points you’ve earned on that turn, and the die passes.

Hans Martin wins the game, 52-42 and ties the match.

and Stephan almost won that one- he was at 49 at one point and hit a 6…

That was previously played in 2008. Regarding the board game, I posted some details a few days ago. There is also a Blamen Oder Kassien card game and a speed puzzle available.

The ball is shaped like an egg. Hans Martin wins the game 7-4, and leads overall, 10-5.

Game 6 is the ever-popular Blamieren oder Kassieren.

Yay! The car horn buzzers are back! Stefan wins. 11-10, I think?

Stefan won the game 7-4, mainly because Hans Martin missed several questions. He retakes the lead, 11-10.

Huge drama! I wonder how many of the producers had a heart attack for those minutes whilst Raab was lying on the ground? It looked like a bit of concussion or something – but I bet Raab’s pleased that game is over!

WHAT. This episode is going to get very interesting from here on in… assuming it continues… Both Stefan and Hans Martin flipped over their handlebars on their second moto, but Stefan is taking a while to get up.

I think we had discussed before what would happen if the contestant had to back out of the competition due to an injury (an alternate, maybe the runner-up in the votes steps in, I think)… But what if Stefan is unable to continue?

    Nice sportsmanship atitude from Hans-Martin.

Interestingly, Betfair odds are actually quite favorable for Martin – 1.5 vs 2.5 for Raab – seems to evolve fast since the injury.

Stefan is either suffering from mild concusion, or he is working out the letter to terminate the employment of the mountain bike course designer in his head whilst walking to the forklift challenge…

I can’t watch this without thinking of that German health and safety vid for forklift truck drivers, Staplerfahrer Klaus.

    It’s better than it sounds.

Stefan just barely beats out Hans Martin in stacking all five pallets. He now leads 19-17.

Stefan wins the visual where is this picture round – 19-27, but then conceeds the high jump round without playing it (understandable if he is carrying a minor injury).
Looks like we could be playing non physical games for the rest of the show…

Elton having 6 number 1 singles but not being on the list. It is only a matter of timenow before somebody gives a correct “wrong” answer.

Did anybody see Divided on Friday? What a good ending, as was Thursdays very entertaining rantfest.

While i am here might aswell say that this is by far the best ever series of Survivor, next week is going tobe funny, though we all know JT willnotgive the II to Russell as it would not have been in the preview, though i hope to be proven wrong

It depends if they are counting Elton John singles such as Sacrifice and the one with Blue where he was featuring.

Two number one singles were with another person though (one with Kiki Dee, the other with George Michael) and would be classified as a duet.. So it’s actually four number ones he performed on his own.

The show does not make it up on the fly, they always mention which source they got it from.

Back to Raab. It looks like Stefan cannot run and jump from his injury, he had to forfeit the 10th game which was High Jump.

It looks like the show continues to make small references to Beat the Star. High Jump was played a few times last year.
