Big Brother Interactive DVD Game

The Amazon blurb says:

"This high profile DVD game will use the most memorable exerts from the Big Brother series so far. It will include puzzles based on clips, stills, audio, sound bites and tasks. The logos, graphic and hugely recognisable music and sound effects from the programme will be used throughout the game."

Hang on!

"Excerpts", surely?

How does it work?

There are two modes, single player and multiplayer. In single player, you take a twenty question quiz and you're told how well you did at the end.

Multiplayer is a bit more interesting. Up to four of you choose your Big Brother persona (one from each of the first six series, the choice is Anna, Brian, Jade, Jon, Nadia and Eugene). There is then an eight "week" (round) quiz - three rounds on general Big Brother trivia, a speed round, a what happened next round, a round based on classic Big Brother arguments, a guess the year round and finally the eviction round. Throughout the quiz, right answers gain you public votes, and sometimes wrong answers lose you them. After the final round, the housemates are "evicted" in reverse order, with appropriate clip.

Is it "good"?

Surprisingly perhaps, it works quite well. Marcus Bentley commentates throughout, as he should, but the questions are just written on the screen not read out. There's a nice amount of variety in the rounds, although I think it would have been nice if the general trivia sections were distributed throughout the game rather than all lumped together at the beginning. The clips are really short (as in about five seconds) which is a shame. It's also a shame that there's no chance to nobble your opponents, and the final eviction round is a bit crap (take it in turns to put the evictees of an entire series in the correct order, with points being lost for picking the wrong person).

However, if you're desperate for a Big Brother series 1-6 trivia quiz, there's actually a lot worse you could have. Well actually there's nothing else, but still. At the time of writing, you can get it for £8 as well.
